OPEN
HOUSE:
Attending an Open House is the best way to get an overview of the school.
7th and 8th grade students and their families have
an opportunity to meet some of our students and faculty, tour our campus,
and visit the many displays on academics, athletics, extra-curricular
activities and school life. Contact the Admissions Office if you would
like a tour of the school.
The Spring Open House will be held on
February 28th, 2008 5:30-7:30 P.M.ENTRANCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Students may apply to Loughlin as new students for the 9th
grade and as transfer students into the 10th and 11th
grades. Transfer students must apply before October 31st for
the 1st / fall semester and before February 15th for
the 2nd / spring semester.
Applicants
for the 9th grade are expected to take the
Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) Exam in November of their 8th grade.

While all
choices are considered, preference is given to 1st and 2nd
choice applicants.
Applicants
for the 10th and 11th grades, and 9th grade
applicants who have not taken the TACHS
test, must submit:
-
transcripts and report cards
-
immunization record
-
sit for an
interview with the with the Assistant
Principal for Academics and/or the Director of Admissions
-
pay the non-refundable registration fee of $470 (cash or money order
only) if application is approved.
In addition, 9th grade
applicants who have not taken the
TACHS
test must take a placement test.

SCHOLARSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES / TUITION ASSISTANCE:
Academic Scholarships (full and partial awards) are awarded only to
Grade 9 incoming students.
Need-Based
Financial Aid worth over $250,000 (maximum grant of $1,400 per student) is
available. The student must be registered in the school in order to be
eligible for such assistance.
The Student Sponsor Partnership is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian program,
which offers four-year financial assistance to students. This aid is
provided by business community sponsors for qualifying 8th and
9th public school students who are both educationally and
economically disadvantaged. Students are selected by the SSP and must
meet Loughlin's standards of academic achievement and good conduct.
RECOGNITION:
The U.S. Department of Education recognizes Bishop Loughlin Memorial High
School as a Blue Ribbon Exemplary High School. The school is chartered by the Board
of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is accredited by
the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.

the ideal size for an effective high school program. |
