Recognition:
The U.S. Department of Education recognizes Bishop Loughlin Memorial High
School as a Blue Ribbon Exemplary High School. The school is chartered by the Board
of Regents of the University of the State of New York and is accredited by
the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools.
Tuition: Tuition
for the 2008-2009 school year is $7,000 which
includes fund raising, Parents Association dues, gym uniform,
calculator, and required class books. There is a
separate $470 non-refundable registration fee. Billing occurs monthly
(over ten months) or quarterly (August, October, January and March).
Please be aware that the tuition charged is less than the
actual cost of an education at Loughlin. While we would never expect a family to bear the full
actual cost of tuition not covered by the tuition charged, fundraising
efforts (the Fall Chocolate Drive = $100 and the Spring Raffle Book Drive
= $40) reduce the gap between the actual cost and the tuition charged.
Support of these fundraisers is very deeply appreciated.
School Size:
With an enrollment of approximately 850 young men and women, Loughlin is
the ideal size for an effective high school program.
Parents:
Most Loughlin parents want more for their children and make extraordinary
sacrifices to send them to Loughlin. They view the school as a harbor of
sanity and hope amidst the instability of urban life. There is an active
Parents’ Association.

young men. Participants in the program will reside in a dorm
Sunday evening through Friday afternoon and will attend school
with the day students. If you would like more information

the summer Head Start program to strengthen academic skills necessary for

classes in Basic Skills, English, Mathematics, Study Skills and Reading.
