Are you ready for HIGH SCHOOL?  There are lots of things to learn before classes start, but don't worry, after a three-day orientation, you'll be ready to go.

Day One: you'll find out about the Loughlin tradition, the school rules, and figure out how to get 7 classes in a 7-day schedule that rotates in a 5-day week. You also get a locker and a special Loughlin lock. Have fun learning how it works. You'll also find out what House you're in.

Day Two: Time for a little fun and compettion. Your house will compete in the Loughlin Spirit Day games. There is a three-legged race, relay races, jump rope, and the famous tug of war. That should build up a good appetite for the picnic lunch of burgers and dogs.

Day Three: It's your first day schedule on a fast track. You'll spend 15 minutes in each class and then move on to the next one. You'll scramble to find your classrooms. You'll also meet your wonderful teachers and find out what the class is about. You'll also hear each teacher's classroom rules.

See you on September 8, 9, and 10.

Loughlin Calling

On Friday, May 8th, 21 Loughlin students had the rare opportunity to see the inner workings of one of the world’s biggest corporations.  Organized by alumnus Brian Connolly ’73, these lucky students spent the day at the corporate office of Avon.   The day started off with a presentation by one of Avon’s Vice Presidents, Janet Black, who gave the students an overview of the history of Avon Corporation.  After that, the students were broken up into two groups and were given a tour of the facility and were able to speak with some of the busy professionals at work.  Follow the tour, the students enjoyed lunch, and then were able to hear very compelling stories of success from two of Avon’s high ranking leaders.

The highlight of the afternoon was when the students were able to hear from the CEO of Avon, Andrea Jung.  Ms. Jung spoke candidly with the students about her career path, her family, and her challenges as the leader of an international organization.   On the way home, the bus buzzed with the group’s excitement from a fun and informative day with Avon.  Bishop Loughlin would like to thank Brian Connolly and his colleagues for providing this great opportunity to our young leaders.
