Are you ready for HIGH SCHOOL?  There are lots of things to learn before classes start, but don't worry, after a three-day orientation, you'll be ready to go.

Day One: you'll find out about the Loughlin tradition, the school rules, and figure out how to get 7 classes in a 7-day schedule that rotates in a 5-day week. You also get a locker and a special Loughlin lock. Have fun learning how it works. You'll also find out what House you're in.

Day Two: Time for a little fun and compettion. Your house will compete in the Loughlin Spirit Day games. There is a three-legged race, relay races, jump rope, and the famous tug of war. That should build up a good appetite for the picnic lunch of burgers and dogs.

Day Three: It's your first day schedule on a fast track. You'll spend 15 minutes in each class and then move on to the next one. You'll scramble to find your classrooms. You'll also meet your wonderful teachers and find out what the class is about. You'll also hear each teacher's classroom rules.

See you on September 8, 9, and 10.

Who has spirit? Loughlin shows its Spirit at the 2009 Spirit Assembly
Posted 12/02/2009 02:15PM

Loughlin students raised the roof with cheers on November 25, 2009 at the Spirit Assembly. It’s just one of the ways we celebrate the sports teams of Loughlin. This year the students came to the auditorium as houses and there was a contest to see which house had the most spirit. The contest was judged by Najawa Glover and Anthony Heyward, student government president and vice president. The winner was Augustine.

Ms. Proce, Athletic Director, organized an exciting assembly. The athletes ran down the aisles and under a bower of pompoms held up by the Cheerleaders while the Senior Band played a familiar theme from Rocky. The Steppers and Cheerleaders gave excellent performances. House Dance also gave an awesome performance. Rodney Green and Denise Seva, the masters of ceremony, kept the show pumped

The performances by all the students were stupendous and showed a lot of work and dedication. Thanks to Ms. Maestro-Carrera who manages all three groups. And a big congratulations to the leaders and choreographers --  House Dance choreography by Whitney Brown assisted by Michael Thomas-Francis and Quanda Campbell;  Cheerleaders choreographed by Stephanie Saintvil assisted by Ashley Smalls; Steppers choreographed by  Barbara Beauvais.
