Are you ready for HIGH SCHOOL?  There are lots of things to learn before classes start, but don't worry, after a three-day orientation, you'll be ready to go.

Day One: you'll find out about the Loughlin tradition, the school rules, and figure out how to get 7 classes in a 7-day schedule that rotates in a 5-day week. You also get a locker and a special Loughlin lock. Have fun learning how it works. You'll also find out what House you're in.

Day Two: Time for a little fun and compettion. Your house will compete in the Loughlin Spirit Day games. There is a three-legged race, relay races, jump rope, and the famous tug of war. That should build up a good appetite for the picnic lunch of burgers and dogs.

Day Three: It's your first day schedule on a fast track. You'll spend 15 minutes in each class and then move on to the next one. You'll scramble to find your classrooms. You'll also meet your wonderful teachers and find out what the class is about. You'll also hear each teacher's classroom rules.

See you on September 8, 9, and 10.

Lady Lions Youthful Trio Captures Golden Championships
Posted 02/24/2010 04:48PM

The sports news in Ladies Track & Field at Loughlin is centered on three outstanding underclasswomen.

Sophomore Adrienne Alexander has already shown why she is the greatest Lady Lion Field event athlete in school history. As a Freshman, last year, Adrienne captured both the Indoor and Outdoor City Championships in the Shotput and garnered an incredible Bronze Medal in the prestigious Penn Relays last April. She has certainly avoided the "Sophomore Jinx" this year as her repeat as Colgate Champ in the shotput in January demonstrated. Last week, Adrienne won both the Brooklyn Diocesan and the Intersectional Shotput championships while throwing a school and CHSAA record 44 feet 5 and one-half inches.

Two Freshman Lady Lions have arrived at Loughlin this year who also show the promise of re-writing some of Loughlin's and the CHSAA's Track and Field records.  Freshman Jallissa Marcus captured Brooklyn Diocesan Championships in both the 55 Meter dash and the Long Jump, and then won the City Championship with a jump of over 18 feet in the Long Jump. Her teammate Kali Kendall was no less magnificent as Kali, fresh from her Colgate triumph in the High School Girls 1500 Meter run, captured the Gold Medals in the Brooklyn Diocesan 1500 Meter and 1000 Meter races in January and then last week ran in front from start to finish to win the 1000 Meter Intersectional "City Championship!"

With such outstanding and youthful talent, the sky is the limit for our Lady Lions Track and Field team!
