McDonnell House

Mission:

The purpose of the McDonell House is to help students foster positive qualities within themselves and realize their full potential. When you are in McDonell House, you are family and if ever in doubt there is someone you can lean on.


About Bishop McDonnell:

  • Bishop McDonnell was the 2nd Bishop of Brooklyn.
  • He founded 50 new churches and parishes.
  • He led 3 diocesan pilgrimages to Rome.
  • He gave the Tablet, our Catholic Diocesan newspaper, its name.

About Bishop McDonnell High School 

  • Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School (1926 -1973) was an all girls Catholic high school.
  • In 1973 the Diocese of Brooklyn closed Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School and many of the young women came to Bishop Loughlin.  1973 also marks the year in which Bishop Loughlin became a co-education high school.
  •  Memorial Hall was dedicated in honor of the thousands of women who graduated from Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School.  Memorial Hall is located on the first floor of our school next to the Religion Department.
