La Salle Hall Boarding Program

Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School has partnered with BOYS HOPE GIRLS HOPE of NEW YORK, a nonprofit organization, to operate an urban boarding school.  This boarding program was established to offer underserved youth a powerful alternative to the overwhelming obstacles that jeopardize academic success.

BOYS HOPE GIRLS HOPE of NEW YORK opened its doors in 1979 and, since that time, it has offered an innovative educational, residential, outreach program to children from all five boroughs of the City of New York and Long Island. BOYS HOPE GIRLS HOPE of NEW YORK's mission is to help academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college

Although Bishop Loughlin is a co-ed school, the boarding program is only open to young men.  The boarding program accomodates a maximum of twenty-five (25) young men from grades 9 through 12 in the former De La Salle Christian Brothers residence, which is located next to Bishop Loughlin. Participants in the program will reside in the dorm Sunday evening through Friday afternoon and will attend school with the day students. Given the limited availability of openings in the program, there is a competitive process by which students are selected to join the program.
