Band, the coveted Angelo Consoli Award was presented. This year’s
recipients are Albert Davis III ’85, Douglas Bourne aka Doug E Doug
’87 and Paulette Passade-Wyatt ’95. Each year the award is presented
to Loughlin alumni who have dedicated themselves to the performing

Douglas Bourne was an active
member of Bishop Loughlin’s Performing Arts Program. He played the
trumpet, was an actor in a number of school musicals, and served as
M.C. in a number of shows and awards ceremonies. Mr. Bourne gave a
touching yet comedic acceptance speech in which he acknowledge the
support he received while attending Loughlin. At the age of 17
Douglas began to work as a comedian in a number of clubs. After he
performed at amateur night at the Apollo, his acting career took
off. He is well-known to moviegoers for his roles in Cool Runnings,
Class Act, Hangin’ with the Homeboys, Operation Dumbo Drop, That
Darn Cat, and as the voice of Bernie the jellyfish in the animated
Shark Tale. His entrance onto the big screen began with one line in
Spike Lee’s Mo Better Blues. Doug also went on to study at NYU
receiving a B.A. in Literature. |
| Paulette Passade-Wyatt is currently
the Praise and Worship Leader of the Apostolic Christian Church in
the Bronx. While Paulette was at Loughlin she received a scholarship
to record with the World Scholar Athlete Choir. It was there that
she performed with the choir and Aretha Franklin. Paulette
emotionally described how thankful she was to music teachers Mr. Bob
Bero and Mr. Louis Maffei for helping her discover and shape her
musical talents. After Loughlin she sang and recorded with Danny
Eason and the Abundant Life Youth Crusade Choir. From 1995-2001
Paulette was appointed Minister of Music for the Apostolic Faith
church. |

The exciting afternoon came to a close with a powerful
performance by the Loughlin African Dance troupe. Afterwards Mr.
Bourne humbly signed autographs and joked with fans. All who
attended the performance agreed that it was one of the best Loughlin
shows of the year.
