The annual Assembly for La Salle Week was a huge success! The
interactive assembly started with an entertaining piece performed by
the drama club. The piece centered on the events which shaped the
life of Saint John Babtist de la Salle, our patron saint. After the
performance, Guidance Counselor Mr. Mike Foley related the work of
Saint La Salle to the work that goes on here, at Loughlin. He
discussed our sister school, St. Mary's in Kenya, and the work we do
for them. He also spoke of the trip he took to Kenya last summer
with 3 Loughlinites and the school nurse Mrs. Wesleen Phillips.
Later, a powerful video with interviews and footage from the trip
was played. Afterwards students in the audience had a chance to come
up and ask those who visited the sister school in Kenya about their
experiences. The assembly finished with the whole school
gloriously singing Honneur a Toi, a hymn in honor of Saint La Salle.
