Faculty Goes To Classes

Have you ever wondered what the teachers do on a Professional Day?  Usually they meet to discuss educational issues, school-wide concerns or meet in departments to discuss textbooks, tests, curriculum, etc.  On Friday, May 4, 2007, our last Professional Day, teachers attended mini sessions conducted by other teachers.  Miss Maxwell and Mr. Santiago presented Smart Boards in the Classroom.  Mr. Montes taught two sessions on Kids and Technology.  Mrs. Bratichak did two presentation on our reading program, Teen Biz.  Mrs. Oluwole and Mrs. Pearson-Fulcher helped faculty members get to Know Our Library and Miss McNamara did two Yoga sessions.  Teachers picked two courses to attend.  The day was a productive one.  In addition to the mini courses the teachers attended a general faculty meeting, department meetings and a Planning Committee meeting to prepare for our Middle States visit in November.
