Walk-a-Thon and Bazaar
To fund our activities and special
programs the Parents’ Association sponsored a Bazaar
and Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, October 7, 2006. It
was a windy, beautiful sunny day. Students and
faculty met in the school yard and walked to and
around Prospect Park to raise funds for our
activities, sports and the SAT program. Leading the
way were the members of our Cheering Squad who also
performed at the Flea Market throughout the day.
Other walkers included members of our Basketball
Team, Mr. Flack, Mrs. Hayles, Mrs. Sontag, Miss
Jones, Coach Green and many parents. Each walker
was supported by donors who pledged a specific
amount of money.
When the walkers
returned to the school yard, they were greeted with
the sounds of our Advanced Band who performed for an
hour. There were also many vendors who were
selling new and used items as well as a variety of
foods.
Over twenty
thousand dollars was raised along with a lot of
school spirit.
