On April 9th we were privileged to have a presentation of
Romeo and Juliet by a talented group of actors from Hostra
University's Department of Drama and Dance. They had our
audience of Freshmen laughing, gasping, sighing, and crying
as they performed one of Shakespeare's most popular plays.
In an question and answer period after the play we found out
that these actors worked very hard practicing the play from
7 PM to 11 PM, 5 days a week, for well over a month. And, no
Romeo and Juliet are not an item offstage.
It was a great performance that had the audience whooping in
appreciation. We hope to see the players of Hofstra
University many, many more times.
