Two Loughlin
students, Jayvaun Pinkston and Deron Lamb, were
chosen to participate in the Right Bounce Top
60. Right Bounce picks the best eighth, ninth,
and tenth grade basketball players from the
entire Eastern region, which stretches from Ohio
to Maine. The players sharpen and demonstrate
their skills as they play against the best. Nike
sponsored the event and it took place right here
at Bishop Loughlin High School on September 15,
2007.
Jayvaun received
the Most Valuable Player trophy and Deron was
named an Elite Player. The day wasn't all
basketball combat, however. There was an
educational element to the day and three of
Loughlin's seniors -- James Johnson, Devon
Elliot, and Kevin Phillip -- helped develop and
present it. They informed the younger players
about the realities of sport scholarships and
gave them tips from their personal experience on
how to make sure you pass the academic
requirements.
Our own coach
Kahlid Green started the Right Bounce Top 60
demonstration games . Let's give him a big hand
and let him now how proud we are to have him
here at Loughlin. |
