Bishop Loughlin Mathematics Team
The Mathematics Team is a group of talented students who have been invited to help and support other students to excel in Mathematics. Loughlin students who have been invited to serve on this team, are men and women of good character who have demonstrated enthusiasm and excellence in their Mathematics classes.
Members of the team will be required to tutor students at least once per week in Homework Center (2:45 – 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Members may also be called upon to serve as mentors during free periods as well.
When you are in need of help, or if you just want to enhance what you have learned, stop by the Homework Center and look for the Math Team.
SANTA VISITS LOUGHLIN
On December 13, Bishop Loughlin artists enjoyed a visit to The Museum of Contemporary Diaspora Art. We took a brisk but thankfully short, walk to the Atlantic Center. We saw wonderful drawings by six contemporary Nigerian women artists. MoCADA Staffer, Morgan Parker, led a lively and thought-provoking discussion on the art presented. We then went to the Atlantic Mall for lunch before we returned to our classes. Everyone had a really fun time and went back to classes very inspired!

New York Marathon 2013
Students in Mrs. Burns’ Global I Honors class worked in teams to complete challenge questions about the Egyptian mummification process. The lesson was ‘wrapped up’ when students got to ‘mummify’ one of their teammates.
The MediaViewer holds photos, audio, and video.
Go to the MediaViewer
To navigate the MediaViewer:
The MediaViewer has three levels of organization: Channels, Folders, and Listings
- Channels -- News and Events, Alumni, etc
- Folders -- usually a specific school year.
- Listings -- this is where you find the media
Some website links to the MediaViewer may take you to a specific listing and hide the Navigation Panel. To open the Navigation Panel, roll over the arrow in the upper right-hand corner. If the navigation panel doesn't open immediately, click on the arrow.
Note: To make the listings chronological, they begin with a date. The format is different than the usual. It is set up with the year first, then the month, and then day. For September 1, 2010, it would look like this: 10-09-01.
Roll over the image area of the viewer to access the controls.
On the right side are icons for navigation, downloading media, sharing media, and searching media. Click on the icon to activate it.
In the row of thumbnail images at the top of the window, click on any image to go directly to it. Click the arrows to the right and left of this row to scroll through all images in the show. These arrows will control only the row of thumbnail images. They do not control the main window of the slide show
To see the images in the show in a grid of thumbnails, click on the grid icon in the upper left corner. Click on any image in the grid to display it in the main window.
At the bottom of the MediaViewer you can control the slide show.
Use the standard buttons in the lower left-hand corner to play, pause, stop, and click through the images in the main window. You can also move through the images in the main window by using the slider.
To change the speed of the slide show, hover the cursor over the time indicator in the lower right hand corner and use the slider bar to change the timing
Click and drag at any corner to make the mediaviewer larger or smaller. Use the icon in the lower right-hand corner for a full-screen view.
The file name of the image appears above the controls at the bottom. Click on the small arrow to the right of the name to bring up a text window for a description.
